These cameras have enough in-camera buffer to sustain its max frame rate for 2-3 seconds, so the speed of the card does not matter much at all there. For a Canon 50D, for e.g. you can buy the slowest CF card there is, and still shoot at 6fps RAW for 2+ seconds before you have to slow down (i.e. 12-15 shots). You can get faster rated 16GB cards from other brands at the same price, but I would rather have this slower Sandisk, as those are known to be more reliable (not to say they just dont fail).30MB/sec is much faster than what is required to shoot HD videos on any DSLR. Canon HD videos need only 6MB/sec at 1080p. Don't get fooled into buying faster cards. If you are into videos, buy larger cards, *not* faster - 16GB can store only less than an hour of HD video at highest resolution). UPDATE... I also have the 8GB version as my backup. I've never had an issue with Sandisk cards. I will probably buy the UDMA version next year! 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful ![]() By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: SanDisk 16GB ULTRA CF Memory Card 30MB/s 200x (SDCFH-016G-A11, USA Retail Package) (Personal Computers) Been using the SanDisk Ultras on my Canon 50D for quite some time now. Fast enough to keep up with the shooting speed of the camera and I've not had any problems with them. Well worth it. |
